Before: Marine Corrosion and Old Coatings

Heavy barnacle deposits, oxidation, and multiple paint layers had built up on the aluminum-bronze blades over decades of saltwater exposure. Traditional abrasive blasting would have altered blade pitch and geometry.

After: Blade Geometry Preserved

All marine corrosion, barnacles, and old coatings removed in a single 2-hour session. The original aluminum-bronze surface is fully restored with no measurable change to blade geometry or substrate finish.

…Todd came out and worked through multiple test scenarios with me involving antique outboard motors, vintage National Cash Registers, old scales, wood components, and other restoration pieces.

…We tested a broad gamut of materials and applications, and the experience gave me a much better understanding of where laser ablation excels compared to traditional media blasting methods.
