IPG Photonics YLP Series Laser Cleaning Parameters
Unusual among laser-cleaning sources, the YLP Series tunes pulse length across a 0.15–2000 ns span, letting one OEM engine swap short-pulse cold cleaning on delicate substrates for 150 mJ long-pulse spallation on thick mill-scale. IPG, which shipped the market’s first nanosecond pulsed fiber laser in 1996, pushes this to 3 kW average power. Its continuous-wave YLC siblings only bulk-heat; the pulsed YLP ablates in controlled discrete shots.

OEM Laser Source Module
This is a laser source module sold to system integrators — not a complete laser cleaning machine. Specifications reflect the bare source only. End-user systems built on this module will vary in beam delivery, scan head, and enclosure.
Derived Parameters
| Fluence at 2 mm spot | 4.77 J/cm² |
| Fluence at 5 mm spot | 0.764 J/cm² |
| Overlap (cleaning) | 60–80% |
Field spot diameter varies by scan head — 2 mm and 5 mm are representative values for handheld cleaning heads.
